The internet has given your customers a megaphone, but are you listening?

Katie

In the age of social media and online reviews, today’s customer can not only be seen and heard but they get to hear what everyone else has to say at the very same time via the internet. Recent results from the Consumer Review Survey 2013 showed that 8 out of 10 consumers trusted online reviews just as much as they would a personal recommendation.  Which is why, here at EMSL, we recommend that our clients take the time to find out what their customers are thinking and take action to strengthen and develop those all-important relationships.

Just as the internet can help consumers to find reviews, it can also help to gather consumer thoughts and customer experience relating to your company, products or service. As consumers, we all expect the right to a voice, but a long and detailed questionnaire has never been anybody’s favourite pastime so how do you go about listening?

The good news is that it has never been easier. Digitally we can collect key information from your customers in a quick, easy, unbiased and non-confrontational manner. We won't reach all types of audience of course but as long as we ask the right questions and remember that we are reaching out to perhaps just a selected audience segment then there is no reason to ignore what the online market has to say.

Our team can work with you to talk through the best option for strategically collecting feedback or ratings. We can incorporate easy feedback features into your website design, add a review function on your E-commerce shop or even create a customer email campaign to deliver a quick but targeted survey.

Positive online reviews are a very powerful sales tool and even the negatives ones can be turned around to your favour with real time action and communication. We do understand that opening your company up to online reviews might make you nervous and it almost certainly isn’t for everyone. However we can safeguard your brand with a series of vetting procedures that ensure that any damaging material will be captured.

If online reviews are not for you then we can suggest ways to collect information privately through an electronic customer survey. The key to customer feedback success is to keep it simple. With various digital methods, it can be quick, flexible and somewhat impersonal hopefully allowing people to tell you what they really think.
